Northern Soul Still Burning Preview + Q&A
Northern Soul was never nostalgia. It was hunger, for the next great record, the next all-nighter, the next moment the room lifts. If Keep on Burning: The Story of Northern Soul told the origin story back in 2012, Northern Soul: Still Burning picks up the thread years later, returning to the world of Wigan Casino and tracing how the scene has survived, shifted and kept its pulse across the decades.
Directed by Alan Byron, it’s a film about the records, the dancers, the lifers and the strange, stubborn power of a movement that never really left the floor. 
On Saturday 25 April, Mockingbird Cinema and The Night Owl present a special preview screening at Mockingbird Cinema, Digbeth, followed by a live Q&A with Alan Byron, Colin Curtis and Mazzy Snape.
Northern Soul DJ sets start at 4pm at The Nest Bar and continue after the film, making for a full evening for anyone who’s ever loved the scene and wants to know why it still matters.
