We’re bringing together the region’s biggest industry names to deliver a day of insights and advice for the benefit of professionals, emerging creatives and those at the start of their journey. Take the opportunity to connect and network, find out what’s been made and how you can make it, as well as hear from panelists from BBC, Create Central, Creative UK West Midlands, Digbeth Loc. Studios and Royal Television Society West Midlands.


11-12pm - Deconstructing Digbeth w/ Create Central, CreativeUK West Mids: Discover how film and television are set to thrive in Birmingham. Join Create Central, Creative UK West Midlands, and special industry guests for a panel discussion on the evolving creative landscape and what it means for the city’s future.


12:30-1:30pm -: Made in the Midlands: Your chance to get the inside track on the big BBC productions filmed on our doorstep. How are MasterChef and Silent Witness settling into their new homes in Digbeth? And why was the West Midlands chosen as the filming location for BBC Three’s comedy drama Just Act Normal? Find out what it all means for the region - and the cast and crew based here.

2:30-3:30pm - Breaking into the BBC: An insider’s guide: If you’ve ever dreamed of writing for the BBC, working on one of its dramas or doing an apprenticeship in anything from journalism to post-production, then this session is for you. Our panel of experts from BBC Writers, BBC Studios Drama Productions and the BBC Early Careers will be outlining the range of opportunities on offer. They’ll also be sharing tips on how to ensure your application cuts through. And you can ask questions too.


3:30-4:30pm - Meet the commissioners w/ RTSl: A panel discussion and Q&A unpacking what commissioners are really looking for. Hosted by Royal Television Society Midlands. This session features both scripted and factual commissioners ready to share insights and answer your questions.
